I. Function of mechanical tube pointing machine
Mechanical tube pointing machine is an efficient, low-cost method of pointing, forming and reducing wire, rod and tube head before cold drawing. It is used to point small and medium size less than 52mm in a simple way. The pointed wires, bars and rods are often used to drawn on cold drawing machine. And the material can be carbon steel, stainless steel, copper, brass, aluminum etc.
There are diffenent grooves on the pointing rolls. One piece of tubing, wire or bar is inserted to the groove which is smaller than the original size for a specific depth. The head of material is pointed under press of up and lower roller. Different types of pointing machine have different rolling ranges. If the rolling size exceeds the working range largely, the rolls will be greatly damaged. If the rolling size is smaller than the working range, the desired rolling effect cannot be obtained.
Changing rolls of different pass shapes can be used to roll heads for drawing materials of different shapes.
