Ring Roller Dies On Cold Pilger Mill For High Precision Seamless Steel Pipes
I. Metalworking (Rolling process) and cold rolling
In metalworking, rolling is a metal forming process in which metal stock is passed through one or more pairs of rolls to reduce the thickness and to make the thickness uniform.
Cold rolling occurs with the metal below its recrystallization temperature (usually at room temperature), which increases the strength via strain hardening up to 20%. It also improves the surface finish and holds tighter tolerances. Our cold rolling mills are devided into two-roller type and multi-roller, which are used to roll seamless pipes and tubes in room temperature.
The ring roller dies are key parts of cold rolling mills, the mother tube undergoes five stages of diameter reduction, pressure rolling, rough rolling, finishing rolling and sizing under the action of rollers to obtain high-precision finished tubes.

The mother tube needs to be annealed before cold rolling to eliminate work hardening. And they should be acid cleaning, phosphating and saponification to get rid of surface impurities.
